What We Do

The mission of the Lantana Ladies League is to improve and strengthen our community through leadership efforts and volunteerism. League members partner with various agencies to effect change for women, children and familiies in and around the Lantana area. Through our own fund-raisers, participation in area charitable events and volunteer activities, League members stay community-focused.

In 2007-2008, the Lantana Ladies League raised and contributed $20,000 to our charities.

HOW CAN LLL HELP?

If we are notified that a resident of Lantana needs some type of assistance, whether they are a Lantana Ladies League member or not, we will send out an e-mail to all LLL members giving them the opportunity to helpA friend or relative needs to send the e-mail to LLL, at lantanaladiesleague@yahoo.com  explain the situation, give contact info, perhaps have a dinner calendar set up, and list any specific needs.

We will be happy to send out the information. Of  course, within LLL, special interest groups or members can continue to organize whatever type of help they wish for LLL members, and notify the league if desired .

Thank you so much to all the members who so generously donated school supplies at our August and September general meetings for the Lester Davis School in Denton.  We received a great amount of the requested school supplies and I delivered them this past Thursday.  The administrators were overjoyed at our response and generosity and wanted me to thank you all.  Thank you also to Barb Wood for coordinating with the school a list of needed supplies as well as contact personnel for me when visiting the school.

The pictures show our generous donations from all of you as well myself and the Principal of Lester Davis School, Jeff Finch.

Thank you,

Jennye Wilsey

WELCOME HOME THE TROOPS

WELCOME1      WELCOME2

January 17th, members of Lantana Ladies League and their families had the wonderful opportunity to welcome home the troops at DFW airport. It  was such a heartwarming and worthwhile experience. We  greeted 186 servicemen and women who have been stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan and were headed home for a 2 week R&R. Some had not been home for months; others over a year.  Some had been on traveling over 9 days just to reach the U.S. Thank  you to all the ladies and their families who helped in thanking and  welcoming the troops home. Thank you also to Jan Pearce for bringing  along her girl scout troop and their many beautiful signs they made  for the soldiers.   As Terry Cosmano stated, "It really was heartwarming to see all these men and women arrive and yet arrive with such a spirit. We are all so grateful for these military members and their families who make so many sacrifices. It really puts things into perspective".
